Anoreal GTN 0.2% Ointment is specifically formulated to manage pain associated with chronic anal fissures—small tears in the lining of the anus that can cause significant discomfort during bowel movements. The active ingredient, glyceryl trinitrate (also known as nitroglycerin), works by relaxing the smooth muscles around the anal area. This relaxation leads to reduced anal pressure, increased blood flow to the affected region, and subsequently, pain relief and enhanced healing. Regular use as directed can significantly improve symptoms and promote recovery. Before application, wash your hands thoroughly. Cover your finger with a finger cot, plastic wrap, or a disposable glove. Using the measuring guide provided with the product, squeeze out the prescribed amount (typically 2.5 cm) of ointment onto your finger. Gently insert your finger into the anal canal up to the first joint and apply the ointment around the inside of the anus. Dispose of the finger covering and wash your hands after each application. Apply the ointment every 12 hours, for up to 3 weeks, or as directed by your healthcare provider.
