Apidra SoloStar is a disposable, prefilled insulin pen designed for subcutaneous injection of insulin glulisine, a rapid-acting insulin analog. It begins working quickly to lower blood glucose levels and is typically administered within 15 minutes before or within 20 minutes after starting a meal. Apidra is used to improve glycemic control in adults and children aged 6 years and older with diabetes mellitus. Each SoloStar pen contains 3 mL of solution, equivalent to 300 units of insulin glulisine. The pen allows for dosing in 1-unit increments, ranging from 1 to 80 units per injection. .
