Bydureon BCise contains extended-release exenatide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that enhances insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon release, and slows gastric emptying. These actions collectively aid in better blood sugar management for individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The medication is administered once weekly via a prefilled autoinjector pen, providing a convenient and consistent approach to glucose control. Bydureon BCise is suitable for adults and children aged 10 years and above and can be used alone or in combination with other glucose-lowering medications when diet and exercise alone do not suffice. . Administer 2 mg of Bydureon BCise subcutaneously once every seven days (weekly), at any time of day, with or without meals. If a dose is missed, administer it as soon as noticed, provided the next scheduled dose is at least three days later. If the next dose is due in one or two days, skip the missed dose and resume the regular schedule. Bydureon BCise is intended for patient self-administration; patients should be trained on proper injection techniques.
