Edarbi 40 mg tablets are formulated with azilsartan medoxomil, a prodrug that is rapidly converted in the gastrointestinal tract to azilsartan, an active ARB. By blocking the action of angiotensin II—a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict—azilsartan helps relax and widen blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure. Effective blood pressure control reduces the risk of cardiovascular events such as strokes and heart attacks. The tablets are white to nearly white, round, and debossed with "ASL" on one side and "40" on the other. . The recommended starting dose is 40 mg once daily, taken orally with plenty of water. Depending on the individual's response, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 80 mg once daily. Edarbi can be taken with or without food. It's important to take the medication at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels. Do not discontinue use without consulting your healthcare provider, as this may lead to an increase in blood pressure.

Each tablet contains 40 mg of azilsartan medoxomil (as potassium).
