It combines sacubitril, a neprilysin inhibitor, with valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). Sacubitril increases levels of beneficial peptides, promoting vasodilation and natriuresis, while valsartan blocks harmful effects of angiotensin II, lowering blood pressure and reducing heart strain.
