Gaviscon Infant Oral Suspension is specially designed to relieve reflux, spitting up, and gastric discomfort in infants aged 1 to 2 years. It works by forming a thick gel that acts as a physical barrier in the stomach to reduce the backflow of contents into the esophagus. This helps soothe symptoms like vomiting and irritability after feeding. It is a sterile powder provided in single-use sachets for accurate dosing. The product is sugar-free, unflavored, and safe when used as directed. For bottle-fed babies, the powder is mixed into the milk, while for breastfed babies, it is given by spoon or bottle. It must be freshly prepared before each use. Gaviscon Infant should only be used under medical advice in infants under one year or premature babies. . For infants under 4.5 kg: Use 1 sachet. For infants over 4.5 kg: Use 2 sachets. Do not exceed 6 doses in 24 hours. For bottle-fed babies, mix each sachet into 115 ml of feed and shake well. For breastfed babies, mix one sachet with 5 ml of cooled, boiled water to form a paste, then add 10 ml of cooled, boiled water and mix. Give partway through feeding using a spoon or bottle. For all other infants, give at the end of each meal using a spoon or bottle. Always prepare fresh before each use.
