Xola Ophthalmic Solution is a sterile eye drop formulation containing dorzolamide hydrochloride, equivalent to 2% dorzolamide. It is indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Dorzolamide works by inhibiting carbonic anhydrase in the ciliary processes of the eye, decreasing aqueous humor secretion, and thereby lowering intraocular pressure. The solution is clear, colorless, slightly viscous, and free from particulate matter. It is supplied in a 5 mL LDPE bottle. . Instill one drop into the affected eye(s) three times daily when used alone, or twice daily when used in combination with a topical beta-blocker. Wash hands before use. Avoid contact between the dropper tip and any surface, including the eye. After instillation, press a finger into the corner of the eye by the nose or close the eyelids for 2 minutes to reduce systemic absorption.
